Supplements Of Vitamin B12 Can Lead To Acne On Your Face

All of us have developed acne on our skin at some point of time. They were indicators of our growing age. For those out of the stage, this might seem like a chapter that has been over for quite  some time. But for those who have some on their faces, it is certainly not a good experience.

Vitamin B12 is found to be responsible for the development of acne on the face. The vitamin is not that bad after all. It is used to treat anemia and boost memory. The vitamin  is found to alter the way the genes responsible for facial health work. It has been found to be responsible for inflammation.

People subscribing to supplements of vitamin B12 are more likely to develop acne than those who don't. They could be responsible for the problems faced by more than 80 per cent of teenagers and young adults. The greatest player in the formation of acne are oily secretions called sebum.

Those taking supplements of vitamin B12 are prone to high levels of the vitamin in their blood, but then  Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for production of vitamin B12, don't produce as much of vitamin B12 as they should. This leads to an imbalance of vitamin B12 in the blood, and a spurt in acne.

But the details of the correlation between the incidence of acne and vitamin B12 are still not very clear to scientists. People who fear the formation of acne are recommended to drink in lots of water everyday besides munching on  a lot of berries.
