If you follow food fads and diets, you must have heard of the paleo diet, which is being counted as one of the biggest trends on the block. Here are some essential aspects of this diet and the basics you should know before starting off.

What exactly paleo diet is all about?
Also known as the caveman diet, this diet is about eating foods that our ancestors had in the Paleolithic age. The diet avoids all foods and grains that are a part of the agricultural revolution and focuses on eating berries, fruits, and meat.

What can you eat?
Paleo diet comprises of a few vegetables and fruits that are non starchy in nature, along with seafood, meat and many other animal products to focus on protein content. It is also a gluten-free diet that doesn’t use any grains, which means barley and wheat must be at bay. All dairy products and legumes are also avoided along with salt, sugar and processed oils.

How effective is the diet?
